Earlier today my son staggered home with his customary around our birthday box of Amazon.com books..including my annual Kaffe Fassett book….this time Quilt Road by Rowan which for some weird reason I missed when it came out here in 2005…may have been the price as the soft covers by Rowan are around sixty dollars here! I have always loved the crosses quilt as I have knitted that a lot over the years but have not done any in patchwork yet. Am thinking it would look wonderful in some of my lush upholstery chenilles and velvets and brocades……can’t wait to get started actually….might do some tote bags first though.
My son is very disappointed in Amazon.com as am I, as several of his books were very poorly packaged and were damaged when he opened the parcel. I am selfish but thank goodness my beloved Kaffe’s was not one of them. He has taken lots of photos and in the past they have sent another copy out free but if they continually keep packaging these precious and expensive I might add, books so carelessly they will lose our custom in the future. Has anyone else had any trouble with them?

I have never had any problems with Amazon personally, But the stuff I order is usually cheap childrens books.

I am going to have it professionally quilted this time. I never have before, but I am never happy with the finished product when I do it myself.

i’ve had to rely heavily on online shopping over the past couple of years, and i have to say that amazon has always been good to me – but then again, i’ve never ordered books from them. i’ve always used thriftbooks.com for that…
but one time, while traveling, i had to have a package full of books inspected and the girl crammed them all back into the box when she was done – literally, folding them and putting all her weight onto them to make them fit, instead of rearranging them. it was infuriating, so i totally feel your pain!

I hope your birthday was a good one. Did you get any of the 3 virtual birthday cards I sent to you? I was having such a problem sending from one site and tried twice…they just didn’t seem to be going through from what I could see…so I tried another site. thanks Judi I did get them and loved them but could not play my Led Zeppelin as am not sure I have that Apple thingie installed to play it …last time I tried it shut the computer down so will check it out with Chris!
