Fabulous thrift find …inspiration for future upcycled skirts made from various sources. This is from New Zealand designer Annah Stretton who has a business turnover at present of ten million dollars per year! Her clothes are now sold worldwide and in some select boutiques in Australia. Have I got an eye for fashion or what, although I really surprised myself this time as this was mixed in with the average skirts ….not a designer item in sight. These little beauties [her skirts] retail for between $260 and $360 New Zealand new and I paid $7.50 for it. This deserves an entry to itself under the category of Spectacular Thrift Find.
Next post will show the amazing unused vintage sheets and tablecloths I found at the same store over two days….don’t go too far away from a computer.

wow – what a find – what sort of fabric is it made from?
Wow, that is amazing. I have a bunch of scraps that I didn’t know what to do with. I never would have thought to piece them together and make a skirt. I just might have to try it.
Cool!
Can’t wait to see the vintage linens. Those are right up my alley!

the skirt is mixed medium weight winter fabrics …the floral is pincord. I think it is quite achievable as it is an A line which is always easy…it is faced with more of the cord.

I can actually picture you in it with boots etc….it would make use of some mixed textures. imagine a heavier weight using cotton velvet and ultrasuede and other textures.

some of the vintage linens are on my next post…might be just your sort of thing.
I love the term “upcycled”. Very fitting for such a beautiful skirt.
Isn’t it adorable Peg? And even though I am tubby I think it would look okay as the vertical panels are flattering. I am also thinking of doing a thrift clothing giveaway every month….the postage would be reasonable and people would get an idea of what sort of things I could stock in a store for them.
