Accessory Addiction: the Purple Suede Shoes and the Oriental Bag
magikquilter July 12th, 2008
This is my handbag bought last year during the winter sales. It is an Oriental print in vinyl, which I prefer to leather as vinyl is a lot lighter to carry. The bag by Cellini originally was $99 and I paid $69 for it. I love the handbag but hate the way the top collapses down if its not held or stuffed with lots of goodies.
The stunning purple suede shoes are by Diana Ferrari and were $69 instead of $99 and I bought them last week on sale.

Ahhh…love those purple shoes! Sometimes I think the world would be a better place if there were just more purple!
You are right there Jackie and there are so many shades of purple to keep us happy! When I was a teenager my sister and I shared a room that was lilac!!!! As were a lot of girls rooms in the 60’s I think…now whenever purple is in fashion I grab it as do I with olive and jade green..my absolute favourite colour ….green. Actually I made the bed with our patchwork velvet duvet today and it has lots of purples and my very favourite shades of green….and I bought some new deep violet sheets to go with it…..so fashion and home wares meet!
You are a woman with purple shoes. I could have guessed. Bet you have the moxie to go with them too! I’m noticing some lovely dishes in the cabinet. Love those!
Well you should see me in my red suede shoes! I have a thing for shoes and as I do not drive and walk everywhere I need comfortable ones. I have at least in the past ten years come down from my 10cm heels to these flats and maybe a little stacked heel…works much better with what is left of the knees. Those are my Portmerion dishes….you can get them over in the states….I have found about half secondhand and the others were gifts. They are very colourful and the plates are about 35cm so would look good on the wall as well. I adore botanical patterns and choose the ones I love the most. Have you finished the baby quilt yet?
OK. I’ve come back for another read, and whilst I do like your boucle jacket, I really, really want those purple shoes. LOL
They are pretty and am so pleased that they have a round toe again as opposed to the crippling pointy though sexy numbers that have been around lately. Hope you had fun shopping with your friend….hope you find something decent without it breaking the piggy bank for that interview….do you make any of your clothes by any chance?
I also love an Olga Berg bag. Though lately (2 or three times annually) I have been buying Manzoni.
I must look up Manzoni ….have not heard of them before…..you mean you buy three handbags a year new????? Do you get rid of your older ones or store them and rotate them? I have been watching too many Foxtel home shows!
