Hello Again, Kathleen! We are having a rather strange summer here, one day hot and humid (ugh!), the next day rainy, the next day cool and the next one hot!!! : ) Then we'll have a day that is just a lovely summer day...so I don't know what is going on!!! : )

Yes, with rug hooking it is important to have the correct backing for the cut width of strips you will be using!!! This linen I'm using is not suitable for the fine cut strips this pattern needs...but as I said, I'm really enjoying redesigning the rug and doing it in the wider, folk art style! : )
I think you might enjoy rug hooking, you are so creative yourself!!
Hugs to you, Sunnie : )

I would love to start Sunnie and this rug is my favourite of yours....and you are cracking me up with elephants going to the toilet and suchlike! Sounds like a weird summer ...and you so look forward t it as do we our winters!!!

Wonderful buys, good for you! I love the blue color in that suit.

That was fun Jackie, I was just replying to the other comments and yours had sneaked in.... it was a lovely surprise! The suit is a stunning blue...as with some opals it reflects what is around it. The camisole is teal which is just wonderful and is perfect for it....am thinking I do not have a bag in opalescent shades...hmm wonder what I can do about that?

Beautiful suit. Will you have to dry clean it, or will you be able to hand wash?

I shall dry clean it as am very careful about silk....just do not think it keeps its lustre or stiffness if washed. Do not mind the soft type silk being hand washed though but this ha such a great texture....do not want to lose it!

Wow, Kathleen! You are certainly getting good buys and you are really getting a lot of terrific things done!!!
Hope all is well with you and family!!!
I'm still hooking away on my latest project!!! : )
Hugs to you, Sunnie ; )

Thanks Sunnie, yes I have found some great stuff and am educating myself at the same time! I love your new rug and it seems a little different to the others. Read your advice about the base fabric you used as well.....I am learning a lot and may even start to do some myself soon. It is quite cold here so might need to get back to machine sewing as my fingers are too cold to hand sew at present. What is it like there?
