Thanks so much for starting the flickr group. Such a great bunch of people to share with! I didn't even know you could be banned from flickr. I'm new at all this stuff. I appreciate your kind comments about my quilts too. Glad I found your blog...and you're a thrifter too! Yeah!!!

Jacquie I love the way you write on your blog. I shall put you on my google reader my son set up, I love it, no more missed posts of fellow bloggers. Isn't the response great. I have not joined some groups before because of the rule about having to leave a comment each time....there are a lot of great quilts etc but I do not always know what to say to the one immediately next to me and think it would sound false if I tried. I have found that to be the case with a few of mine where the commenter [?] sounded like they had no idea what they were expected to say. Also I was next to Liza of Dorky quilts one day...way out of my league talent wise but she got in there and commented quite kindly on mine!

Yes who knew one could be banned? I certainly did not and as I had no warning it was disturbing....you know the "what did I do, my work is not good enough" etc etc then after fact checking with flickr found out that group administrators are effectively god for that group, though flickr prefers warnings to banishment with no recourse..they were really stunned. So it is not flickr that bans you it is the administrator, which is why I decided to set up a safe haven for us, as would not allow that to happen to our group members.

Do you photograph your thrift finds? I have not got far back enough in your blog yet to see.

Kathleen, I like your vases. Have you been collecting them for a while or did you come across more than one at a time? Its hard to imagine that my boys are getting the age they are too…with Geoff’s b’day coming up next week and all. I remember when I was small and my parent’s friends would say “oh I remember when you were just a baby..or just a little girl”.. and now it seems so strange when I say it to others. Stranger too to feel much the same on the inside just that there are changes on the outside. Oh my where is this coming from… *s*..

Hi Judi I found the two black ones together and have been collecting for some time. Sometimes though with thrifting everything comes in at once. My aim was to have pottery etc with my quilts the way the magazines have them in their photoshoots but am running out of storage space. What I do is rotate different collections and looks in our home and will be bringing the accent pottery and china up when I rephotograph my quilts. I want some more artistic shots of them for my records!
I hear you on all the above…especially the discrepancy between the outside and in! It is just that my knees and things remind me that I am not twenty anymore or even thirty for that matter.

Glad to see you are having a week off - that's what I really need.

Did you get warned by flickr or was it my mad email that made you think of it? I hadn't read all the small print when I joined flickr.

Kara it was my being banned last week which led to me going to the help forum and they felt it was that but then a staff member then said my blog was okay as it was a personal blog that was not driving business to a site for profit. Unlike you I was just banned but think if flickr warns you, next time your account is deleted.

And boy do you ever need a week off. My Rss feeder is up and running now but yours won't link to your posts...is that meant to be?
