New policy on comments.

Just to let you know I am instituting a policy on comments. After my last post I received one rather abusive comment and checked back to the website to see if any dialogue could ensue only to find it was a porn site…so maybe I should not be surprised at the comment left. However should I receive any more in that vein I will delete them. If they are just expressing a strong differing opinion then fine but any that provide a link to porn or offensive sites I shall not enable the link back.

Things I deem offensive:

Women who are in compromising sexual positions…even though it may be their choice

Any site that calls women sluts…speaks for itself

Any comment that implies that I am bigoted…the reverse is probably true

Any rant of any kind that is not relevant to my post

I was accused of thinking I was some kind of authority and hey guess what on my blog I am…if not here then where?

Nice to see that you got a response from the church in question.

I delete any comments that have a commercial website as their url (I’m not into providing free advertising) if the comment does not relate directly to my blog post, ie if it’s a generic “nice blog” comment then it goes. I also delete all spam that makes it through.

Like you if I take exception with the person’s comment (like when I was accused of being an animal abuser) I will email them my response and respond on my blog itself.

Like you say, it’s your blog and you have every right to create the tone and environment you want to.

and Sam’s comment made no sense. I certainly didn’t read your blog post as proclaiming Christianity as the only way…just airing your concerns about the (mis)use of Christian symbols. I would have deleted that comment too. If someone can’t express themselves coherently then why should you listen…

Thanks Ruth. You an animal abuser? Incredible! Today we completed watching the DVD Long Way Down with Ewan Mcgregor and Charley Borman and team and was thinking of you as they drove through South Africa. The people seemed so regal in so many of the places they went, it was an eyeopener although my husband walked through the Sahara in the 70s so have heard a bit about the land before.
